LEARN MORE
The Sing Easy™ is a guided group voice practice for nervous system awareness, expression and connection through sound.
Using breath, movement, resonance, improvisation and simple group harmony, each session invites participants to notice how they meet their voice: where they brace, disappear, overwork, hold back or find ease. Rather than focusing on vocal performance, the practice uses sound as both an instrument and a feedback system—a direct way to explore presence, choice, expression and connection in real time.
Sessions move through a flexible framework of vocal exercises and original short choruses called “spells.” These simple pieces of music give the group a shared structure without requiring anyone to read music, learn complicated parts or identify as a singer. As individual voices begin to meet, contrast and settle into harmony, the room becomes a living practice in listening, collaboration and integration.
The Sing Easy is beginner-friendly, but it is not only an introduction to singing. It is a cultivation of ease: an opportunity to become more aware of your internal state, experiment with how you take up space and experience what changes when your voice is supported by other voices.
Created and facilitated by voice educator and artist Jess McAvoy, sessions run for approximately 80 minutes at locations across New York City. No previous singing experience is required.
